Slang

Well, now. It seems that in North Carolina (which I thought was the saner of the Carolinas), the Wake County School Board has banned, among other books, the Cassell Dictionary of Slang. Says Jonathon Green, who compiled the dictionary:

"I'm very flattered," said Mr Green. "It's not exactly book-burning but, in the great tradition of book censorship, there never seems to be the slightest logic to it."

We must protect our nation from non-standard words at all costs! Huzzah! for North Carolina.
